Clarins offer at Boots - May 2015

I had been recommended the Clarins Golden Glow Booster, so I went down to boots to check it out.

The perk of this product is that you can add it to any face cream as a gradual tanner. I have tried some other gradual tanner products before but I didny particularly like the actual cream itself.

It is £19 for the oil, which isn't cheap considering it's only 15ml and you need to use 2-3 drops every time. Boots have this deal on where if you buy two Clarins products you get £10 worth of points, so effectively £10 off or a saving of £10, which is brilliant. On top of this Clarins have an offer on where if you biy two products you get a free gift - which is a beach bag and a choice of three different products.

I bought two of the self tanners and choose the eye make-up remover, the facial exfoliater and the body serum.

I will do a review of the glow booster soon, but I just wanted to share this deal, incase anyone wanted to get any Clarins products currently.

All the best xx

Beauty Haul - Jo Malone, Boots, Tom Ford, Kiehls, Fresh Line and Apivita

April Beauty Haul - Boots, Jo Malone, Kiehls, Tom Ford, Apivita and Fresh Line

beauty haul

I recently purchased a bunch of beauty products, so I have decided to do a haul post and show you all what I got.

beauty haul1. The Kiehls eye de-puffer - It's amazing because its so easy to apply. I think this is part of the mens range, however, I don't really think this matters.

2. Boots Botanics facial oil - I have wanted to get a facial oil for a while; so i thought I'd give this one a try. I will let you know how i get on...

3. Boots Botanics nourishing night cream (radiant youth) - I usually use the same cream day and night.,currently Origins plantscriptions, but I bought this to try out. Once again, I will let you know what it is like to use.

4. Apitiva face mask with green clay - I have never tried this Greek brand before, so I purchased this at Laranaca airport and there products looks amazinf because they are all natural and organic. Im excitited to try this!

5. Apivita natural serum (hydration) - There were around 4 to choose from and I picked this one up becuase it's aim is to hyrdate and some of the others were for more more mature skin or specific problem skin.

beauty haul6. Herbal essences dry shampoo (Boots) - I don't use that much dry shampoo, however when I do I usually use Batiste, I was interested in trying this because its a natural alternative. I really like the smell and it works really well. I will definetely be purchasing this again. I have dark hair and it can be brushed in to blend in easily, just great!

7. Tom Ford Costa Azzurra (Duty Free) - I have been wanting to buy this for some time now, but have put it off several times (due to the cost and being unsure whether I really like it or not).
It's a unisex fragrance and it smells exotic and very different from anything I've smelt before. It's described as a woody aromatic, however I don't feel its too woody at all and I smell more of the citrus in there than anything else.

8. Frizz Ease polishing serum (Boots) - I love hair serums, I suffer from frizzy hair, so I rely on them to work to combat the frizzy hair flyaways all the time. For some time now I have just been using the bed-head 'some like it hot', which is readily avaiable and I have to order it online. I thought I would try out the frizz-ease one as I used to use the original one, amny years ago.

beauty haul9. Jo Malone Pomegrante Noir -  I love love love Jo Malone!! I have had this before and I love it. A lot of people think this is quite a winter scent, but I love it's richness and I like to wear it in the evening to add a nice sensual touch.

10. Toni and Guy Gloss Serum (Boots) - I bought this to have a small handbag size serum to carry around with me. I like it, it does the trick when I need it. I don't know if I would repurchase this again but maybe it will grow on me.
beauty haul

11. Fresh Line - Pomegrante Shower Gel and Lotion, Grape Shower Gel and Lotion, Melon Lotion and Grape Exfoliating Sorbet - I have an obsession with Fresh Line products! They are like LUSH but organic. All there products are made from fresh ingredients. I have quite a large number of their products and I have used the shower gels and body lotions before but only in Pomegrante. I bought the melon and grape for a change, to try something new and I love them, I have never purchased a product I haven't liked from them. The exfoliator is brilliant, it smells super duper and it works really well and removing dead skin. The products are only avaialalbe in Cyprus currently :(

Hope you enjoyed the haul!!!

Let me know if you have any questions regarding any of the products.

Take Care x

May Favourites

Sephora waterproof eye makeup remover
I bought this when i was in Paris in March and this month I started using it and this is mainly because I have been using the Urban Decay waterproof eyeliners, which have also made it into my monthly favourites. This eye makeup remover makes it so very easy to remove your eye makeup and feels gentle on my eyes. You just shake it and the blue liquid mixes with the clear and its ready to use.
Sephora waterproof eye makeup remover from Sephora. http://www.sephora.com/ Price: $9.50

Urban 24/7 glide-on eye pencils
I have two of these eyeliners, one in the colour junkie and the other in pervision. I have loved using these this month, because they really do glide on and then they stay put all day. I have enjoyed using the turquoise shade, as its something I wouldn't usually experiment with for daily use, but i find it brightens up the eye area instantly. Junkie has a two tone effect, which makes it really interesting and it can be applied to the bottom lashes with no other eyeliners needed on top for an easy to wear look.

Urban Decay eye pencils from Debenhams ( http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_123932962099_-1). Price £14 each

Tresemme heat defence styling spray
I needed to purchase a new heat protectant, as my GHD one had come to an end. I love the smell of this and I think it's good value for the money at £3.50.I prefer the spray nozzle on the GHD protector but this still has a good range. I use this even when I want to give some life to my curls and not even use any heat styling products.
Tresemme heat protect spray from Superdrug (http://www.superdrug.com/beautiful-hair-curls-n-swirls-range/tresemme-heat-defence-styling-spray-300ml/invt/428302&bklist=)
Price: £4.69 or on offer at 2 for £7

Tea tree cleanser and toner
This has made it into my monthly favourites because its great to use when you feel like you might be getting bad skin or if you are going away, because it less to carry. All in one bottle, cleanser and toner, its so simple yet effective. It smells refreshing and leaves my skin feeling very clean and fresh but not striped back and tight, like I have experienced with other two in one toners and cleansers. If i feel a spot may be coming through i use this and it always stops spots from appearing.
Tea tree and witch hazel cleansing and toning lotion from Boots. (http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Tea-Tree-Witch-Hazel-Cleansing-Toning-Lotion-150ml_1213606/) Price £3.59

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation
I got this as a sample but its enough for at least two weeks of applications. I found the colour match very accurate and the finish appears very natural. I like the way it applies and it's easily buildable, depending on what coverage you want. I generally need more coverage on my cheeks because they go slightly red and sometimes I only like to apply foundation here, so its important it is a good match to my skin. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as what it was, so I was happily surprised by its finish and colour. I would definitely consider buying the full size of this, exceptit is £27 and I find my skin colour changes frequently because I tan very easily and wouldn't make full use of it.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation from Urban Decay (http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_123932019899_-1)
Price: mine was a sample but usually £27

April Favourites

Marc Jacobs Daisy EDP
I was debating between the regular Marc Jacobs Daisy EDT or this EDP, which only comes in a 50ml and is more expensive. However, I think you'll not need to use as much because its stronger than the EDT. I love the combination of femininity and sensuality. I feel the EDP oozes sophistication. The top notes include, strawberry, voilet leaves and ruby red grapefruit.
The heart notes are violet, jasmine and gardenia. And the base notes vanilla, musks and white woods.

No7 micro-abrasion
This exfoliator from No.7 is great for really getting deep into the skin and deep cleansing. I have been using it once a week. As you rub it in circular motions over your face, the fine beads invigorate the surface of the skin and remove the dead skin and dirt from your pores. Its scent free and you don't need a lot, so I think it was a good buy.

Maxfactor Blusher
Although i have used the same MaxFactor blusher for numerous years. I had my makeup done by a MaxFactor makeup artist and she used this colour, 235 Chestnut, on me and I thought it suited my complexion well. My typical go to, is still Mulberry but for a change up this month I have been using this colour now and again.

Real techniques brushes
I have been enjoying using these two brushes in particular because they are so easy to use to blend your makeup and also for contouring. I have the .... Set and the .... Set, courtesy of my lovely friend Mandeep, who bought these for me as a gift last year. I find these two brushes I use more than the others.

Music!
I have been loving JT's new album, the 20/20 experience. Its rare that you can listen to a whole album through without wanting to skip tracks, but with Justin Timberlakes new album I like listening to all the tunes on there. My favourite track is 'dont hold the wall', but thats just if i had to pick one.

GlossyBox's 2nd Birthday - Covent Garden

Yesterday I went to down to Glossybox's 2nd Birthday in Covent Garden!
There was a massive Glossybox and a big timer next to it, counting down the time until the box next opened. Whilst I was waiting for the box countdown, Amber Antherton From Made In Chelsea, was on stage talking about her beauty regime and favourite products. There was also girls giving out little bags with some treats in.

When the timer hit 00:00 the box opened and there were girls inside handing out free Glossybox's. Although it was of course nice to see and be a part of, the amount of pushing, shoving and pure chaos was a little bit of a nightmare. I was near the front and I did manage to bag myself my free Glossybox (Yay to me), however could I move away from the front to get out of the crushing craziness, no.
The box didn't stay open for long and it soon closed and there were a lot of disappointed faces around. Amongst the sad faces were also alot of smiley, excited faces opening up their boxes and seeing what goodies they had inside.

Inside my is:
Jelly Pong Pong - Fairy lashes mascara
Beautiful Movements Cosmetics - Prime and Create mixing medium
Premae - Harmony Balm
Roger and Gallet - Fleur de Figuiern sachets
Headline Colours - Poolside Party nail polish 083
Glossybox mini nail files

In my little goodie bag I got:
Glossybox eye mask
Lollipop
Glossybox blusher - glossy rosewood

Who else went down to Glossybox's 2nd Birthday celebrations?

March Favourites

Nail Paint by Barry M 305 Pink Famingo
I love this colour, its bright and vibrant and feels great for spring time. I like Barry M nail varnish because it's good quality, easy to apply and it has a really nice shiny finish. I prefer the texture of these ones to the Gelly range because it's easier to apply, however the Gelly range is great for longer wear because it's more like gel nail varnish.

Barry M Nail Paint from Superdrug. Price: £2.99

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick (colour 107)
This is my first official lipstick purchase, because the MAC cremesheen I bought doesn't officially count. I was going to get either MAC's absolute power from the limited edition strength collection or this Rimmel Kate Moss one. I chose this because I really liked it and it matches these wedge heels I have, perfectly. It lasts a good amount of time and its easily buildable. So for more of an intense finish, apply more.

Rimmel Kate Matte from BootsPrice: £5.49

This was me wearing the lippie out :)

Oral B Pro-Expert Professional protection gencives from Paris
I have a slight obsession with my teeth. And believe it not, I managed to leave my toothpaste behind when I went to Paris. So I had to go and purchase one and I got this Oral B one, after deliberating which one to choose from. Why has it made it into my favourites? Well it is amazing. It leave your mouth feeling really super duper fresh and your teeth super duper clean. The sad thing is that I can't see it for sale over here in the UK and its come to an end already (sad face).
If you can get your hands on it, I would thoroughly recommend it.

Avibon from Paris
Yes, another item from Paris. Avibon is one of these beauty products that you just need to try and see what all the hype is about. I do actually really love it because its exactly what I want from a skincare product. I usually apply almond oil in the evening before bed, so I have been applying this every other night and almond oil the other nights. Avibon is high in vitamin A, so its great for preventing wrinkles and I also believe well moisturised skin is less likely to produce lines. I apply it all over my face because I like how moisturised my face feels in the morning. Be warned that is it very greasy and thick, but this means you don't need a lot, as it goes a long way.

Lush Shower Jelly
I just have to start by saying, If I could live in Lush I probably would. Anyway, the shower jelly, I have been using this a lot this month. I like how easy it is to use and it smells amazing. I have also got the sweetie pie one, which have pretty glitter in it, so iv shown it in the picture below.  I haven't used it yet because i used the whoosh one this month. It lathers up nicely and I use it with my exfoliating gloves, so I just grab some and rub it together and use it like it a shower gel. Lovely Jubly.

Lush shower Jelly from Lush. Price: £6.25

Games!
Jetpack Joyride
This game is so addictive! Its a little man that has a jetpack and you collect coins and avoid this electricity thingys and rockets. I am not at good at explaining why its so addictive, you just need to try it. You see how many metres you can travel and that becomes your score. Iv got it on my Blackberry and my iPad. Every free moment I have I had it out and I was trying to beat my score.

Music!
I am typically into my slowjams, soul, r&b music. Miguel, Musiq Soulchild, Anthony Hamilton.....
Well this month I have been loving Rian Peters. His voice is unique, he sings with meaning and its soothing to listen to. My favourite track is 'Let Go'. He is a truly talented artist and I wish him all the luck in the world.
You can check him out on his YouTube channel here: www.youtube.com/user/rianpeters

February Favourites

Firstly i need to start by apologising for posting my Feb Favourites so late, I have been away a lot and I have had them written up on a piece of paper (I know very old skool) and just haven't had the chance to get them up.

Lets get started with the first of my favourites of this month;
The GHD hair heat protect spray has a really nice smell. I don't straighten my hair regularly but I do more occasionally put some sort of soft curls in and I have found this GHD heat protector good to seal the hair in conjunction with my GHD straighteners. I think overall i like this because of its wide angle spray nozzle and the smell.

GHD Heat Protect Spray from Look Fantastic. Price: £9.99

Next up, isn't a beauty product but is a big favourite in my life.
The Jo Malone Sweet Almond and Macaroon Deluxe Candle; I loooove the smell of this candle. It has a sweet, creamy smell about it. It smells a bit like marzipan, almost like that angel cake. And of course it smells like those coconut macaroons........yummmy....yummy....all round yummy.......I want to it eat. It leaves a luxurious sweet, warming smell in the house, which makes me feel super relaxed. Big thumps up. Unfortunately this was a limited edition for the Christmas period, its was £80 and now you cant buy this size or smell again probably until the festive season this year.
jo malone candle review, sweet almond and macaroon, jo malone
Jo Malone Sweet Almond and Macaroon Deluxe Candle from Jo Malone. Price: £80

Now on to makeup, The Collection 200 Smokey eye palette, I rarely wear eyeshadows, but I have been using this palette a lot this month because I like to use the black and brown as shadow eyeliners. The palette is flat and easy to carry. The shades are pigmented too, so for around £4 its a good buy. I like that all the colours are in one small palette and you can use the 8 colours to create 3 different smokey eye effects.

Collection 2000 Smokey Eye Palette from Boots. Price: £4.19

I have been using almond oil for a while now, but I discovered a cheaper option and it's been my most used product this month.
I need to admit , I use almond oil religiously but I used to buy a small bottle (50ml) from Boots for £1.59 and now I have found and been using this KTC Almond Oil. I got it from Asda for £1.79 and its 300ml! So i stocked up and bought a few. Its awesome stuff for an awesome price. I use almond oil for my hair and skin; I will write a post soon enough on all the fabulous things you can use it for, including using it in homemade lip balms.

KTC Almond Oil from Asda. Price: £1.79
I hope you enjoyed my February favourites. Do you use any of these products? What are your thoughts on them?
